REGULAR GIVING

Vision

This is a great faith stretching moment for Re:Hope as we continue to take steps forward together.  This is a time when we all get to consider the role we play in resourcing the vision and mission of the church.

We are extremely thankful for all those who regularly tithe to Re:Hope Belfast.  This year we have been able to continue to expand the ministry of this church as a result of your generosity.  We have been able to pay for 3 members of staff, the rent and general up keep of the premises as well as updating equipment and resourcing ministries.  We have also been able to run our first ever conference which was such a huge blessing to many, including resourcing the wider Church.  We also have a commitment to be a generous church and as a church we tithe 10% and give away finances to both local and global partners as we stand alongside them in their work for the Kingdom.

As we look forward we want to continue developing this great work and we would love to encourage you to carefully consider and pray about your monthly contribution. We believe Re:Hope Belfast has greater things to come and in the year ahead we want to build upon where we are right now, as this is just the beginning!

All of the money that is tithed is under the stewardship of the Directors and these funds are then allocated in accordance with the objects of the Charity. An increase in giving would significantly help us to develop the work of Re:Hope Belfast further and would create margin in our budgets to enable growth.

What does it look like?

What we, the directors, are suggesting is the following:

1. By the end of 2018 we would like to see an increase in regular tithes of £1,000 p/m.

2. By May 2019 we would like to see a further increase in the regular tithe of £1,000 p/m.

If everyone who is currently in a Bible Read Through were to give an
additional £2.80 per week this would mean that we would reach
the additional £1,000 per month target by Christmas.

This additional money would enable us to have a broader scope in our budget whilst also enabling us to continue to operate with a greater level of financial security.

What next?

What we ask is that each of you spend time in prayer bringing before God your personal finances.  If you don’t currently tithe (bringing your first and best to your church), would you considering starting to give to the work of God through Re:Hope Belfast?

If you do currently give now is a great time to review your giving and seek God about any increase you can make to your current tithe. If God nudges you to alter the amount you can give either monthly, or as a one off gift, we encourage you to write this down on a pledge form.

BUILDING FUND

Vision

We are so excited to introduce our ALL IN offering. This is a sacrificial offering towards a special building fund which is over and above our standard monthly tithes and offerings.

For the past two years we have been meeting in a rented space which has served it’s purposes but we now have to vacate these premises and find somewhere new we can call home.  We are prayerfully looking for somewhere that is not only going to meet our current needs, but will be a space we can grow in and develop for the future.

And this is where we all get to play a significant role.

What we are asking you to do is no small act as it involves a level of sacrifice.  This is a personal exercise as we each consider our own finances and the sacrifice that we are able and willing to make.  As we consider what we are able to give we must remember that we are sowing into God’s kingdom and he will multiply it in ways that we can’t even fathom as we give away. This is also a spirit filled exercise as we release something personal and lay it before God.

In doing this there might be some pain, some doubt, some anxiety but as you do this

we would love you to consider these 4 things:

1. Be Radical, Not Reckless

2. Give by Faith, Not by Credit

3. Sacrifice Luxuries, Not Living

4. Pray & Prepare

Where will the money go?

At present we don’t have a specific building but we do know that a new building is on the horizon. There are multiple ways this could look (long term rental, temporary lease, purchase) but each of these will require a level of fit out which will cost us as a church over and above our general budget.

In time we will have a better idea of general costs involved but for now, based on our understanding of our needs going forward the staff and directors have agreed that we need to take a bold step of faith and raise £35,000 in order to cover costs associated with being in a new building. This money will be used to purchase hospitality* and
audio/visual equipment, chairs*, furniture* as well as any cosmetic changes we need to make.  It’s important to note that this figure is a rough estimate which will be reworked when we know the building we will be moving into.  In addition, these figures don’t include moving costs, any potential additional rent/mortgage, and insurance.

If everyone who is currently in a Bible Read Through
were to commit over the next 12 months to give £32 p/m
(in addition to their tithe) this would mean that we would
reach the target of £35,000.

*all that we currently use belongs to May Street Presbyterian, therefore we will need to purchase our own.
