For everything there is a season

Ecclesiastes 3:1

It is with great sadness that we are announcing the closure of Re:Hope Belfast with the final service taking place on the 23rd January 2022.

In the summer of 2015 our lead pastors Josh and Ruth Binstead were obedient to the call of God to move to Belfast to plant Re:Hope Belfast.  In July 2016 following a year of preparation, prayer and great conversations they moved with their one year old son Reuben to plant Re:Hope Belfast.

Over the years there has been much fruit as lives have been brought into the kingdom, people have been baptised, babies have been dedicated, and new stories have been written.

There are so many incredible memories and highlights from opportunities to share Jesus through many Alpha courses run, or key conversations during a mens and womens breakfasts, and more recently through the mums group on Fridays.

We have been blessed by incredible teachers including our senior pastor Brian Ingraham, Ruth Weller, Heather Taylor, Tim Chaddick, Jose Zayas, John Mark Comer, Alain Emerson, and Jasper Rutherford to name but a few.

Along the way it was such an incredible privilege to partner with churches like Westside AJC in Portland as we hosted interns and mission teams for a number of years from the States.

A key piece of ministry here at Re:Hope Belfast was our mission partners and what a great joy it has been to partner with Storehouse and Made for More, and the amazing work they continue to do here in Belfast, and the wonderful team at Happy Home Orphanage in India.  These are all amazing ministries that God is using for His purposes here in Belfast, and across the world.

A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey, to the friends that have been made, and the lives that have been impacted.  We know that what God has done in the hearts of His people will continue to bear fruit for years to come.

And so we continue to pray:

May your Kingdom Come and may your Will be done here in Belfast as it is in heaven.

Hey everyone.

Thank you for taking the time to read this page.

We recognise that this decision is hard, and it's been an incredibly difficult one for us to get our heads around.  We love this church and this community and so drawing this to a close for us has been a painful process.  But we are certain that the God who called us into this position, and who drew you to be part of this community will continue to guide and lead each of us onto our nexts.

For Ruth and I following the closure of the church we are planning to take a short Sabbatical to rest and recharge both spiritually and physically following 10 years of full time ministry.

This has been a really hard season of ministry, which has been made worse thanks to all things Covid.  Re:Hope Belfast has been our life for the past 6 years and we are so delighted to have had a front row seat to witness God doing incredible things throughout our time leading this church.

It has been such a joy and privilege to journey with so many people through the joys and challenges of life and we are so thankful for all the ways that God has been at work in the life of the church and it really has been the greatest of joys.

If you have any stories to share or words of thanks, Ruth and I would love to hear from you, why not drop us an email to

Please do join with us in praying for God's divine revelation as we consider what He is calling us on to do next.

And finally a huge thank you to all of you who have been part of the journey, we genuinely are so grateful for you.

Ruth and Josh Binstead
